In order to teach for monetary reward, it is a legal requirement in the UK to be sponsored and trained by an existing DVSA Approved Driving Instructor. We have set out the process of what your journey looks like from A-Z below.

Our team can help you prepare for any of the tests. You have the freedom of either choosing to become independent after you qualify as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) or if you would like to join our team as a franchisee. We do not tie you in to a contract like most schools. Our mission is to make this industry more accessible without you having to worry about the costs in setting up as an instructor. Call us or message us today for more information on how we can help.

PART 1

Firstly, you can check if you can become a driving instructor on this Government link:

https://www.gov.uk/become-a-driving-instructor

If you meet the requirements, you will then have to apply for a DBS check. It is highly recommended to start revising for the first of 3 qualifying stage, the Part 1 Theory Test. There are plenty of resources both online and in most high-street book shops on how you can revise for this test. Whilst you are allowed unlimited attempts for this test, we highly recommend revising as much as possible as what you learn here will help with the remaining stages and will allow you to become a more knowledgeable instructor. More information can be found below:

PART 2

After you pass the Part 1 Theory Test, your next step would be to start training for the Part 2 Driving Test.

Here at Precise Driving School we are experts at preparing you for this stage and we can offer you 10 hours of training to help you prepare for this Test. You have only 3 attempts for this test so it is highly recommended to take training from an existing ADI to help you through this stage before you attempt it. Should you be unsuccessful at this stage, you will have to wait a minimum of 2 years from when you passed your Part 1 Theory Test. You will then be required to start the whole process again. More information on the Part 2 Driving Test can be found by clicking on this link:

PART 3

You have several options in how you can prepare for the final test, the Part 3 Instructional Ability Test. Again, you only have 3 attempts at this test. This is the test which decides whether you will be allowed to become an Approved Driving Instructor. Contact us for more information on how we can help you maximise your chances of becoming not only a qualified instructor but also a successful one with a teaching style which will set you apart from the rest. Standards Checks

Every qualified instructor will at some point go through a Standards Check with the DVSA, usually every 4 years. We are here to help with that so you can have peace of mind knowing that you can continue your career as an ADI. Regular Continued Professional Development (CPD) will help to ensure that you always stay up to date with the DVSA's requirements. We can help you understand what is required to be the very best in the industry so that your clients always receive value for money.
